CGCS Bernard Harris Scholarship: The Council of the Great City Schools is now accepting applications for the 2025 CGCS-Bernard Harris Scholarship Program! Four outstanding students—two African American and two Hispanic seniors—will each receive a $5,000 scholarship in honor of Dr. Bernard Harris, former NASA astronaut, physician, and businessman. Eligibility: High school seniors in a CGCS member district, accepted for full-time enrollment at a four-year college/university, planning to major in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math). Fernando Award Scholarship: Multiple $1000 Scholarships. The Fernando Award Foundation offers unique scholarships to graduating high school seniors and community college students in the San Fernando Valley who are involved with community service and volunteerism performed outside of that required by the schools.
