AP Courses at NAHS

Advanced Placement (AP) Courses 
AP courses are generally offered to students in grades 10-12. These classes allow motivated high school students the opportunity to take college-level courses during high school. Students who participate in AP courses gain college-level skills through the rigorous coursework as outlined by the CollegeBoard. Students can also earn college credit by passing the corresponding AP exam for their course. 
 
AP course enrollment is for a full year. All students enrolling AP courses are expected to take the corresponding AP exams in May. 
 
We currently offer the following AP Courses: 
  • AP English Literature, 12th Grade (Mr. Gross 
  • AP English Language, 11th Grade (Mr. Matheny)
  • AP Spanish Language & Culture (Ms. Campoy)
  • AP Human Geography (Ms. Panasyan)
  • AP World History (Mr. Mangione)
  • AP U.S. History (Ms. Figueroa)
  • AP Government (Ms. Nelson)
  • AP Calculus AB and BC (Ms. Lopez)
  • AP Biology (Mr. Arias)
  • AP Environmental Science (Mr. Arias)
  • AP Chemistry (Ms. Garrison)
  • AP Computer Science (Mr. Chan)
  • AP Psychology (Ms. Goodman)-This course is not being offered for 2023-2024
 
AP Exam Testing Accommodations 
Students with IEP's or 504 plans who wish to submit request for SAT, AP, or PSAT testing accommodations should submit THIS FORM to Mrs.Ortega. Please note, approval for testing accommodations is granted by the CollegeBoard, not the school. Requests may take up to 8 weeks for approval.

Are you interested in taking an AP course next school year? Need more information? Attend our AP Fair and individual course sessions to learn more! We will also have an AP Parent Informational Meeting during Open House as well! Students interested in enrolling in AP courses must submit the AP Interest Form no later than April 12th.
