Castro selected as Distinguished Principal

LAUSD recently announced its inaugural cohort of Cahn Fellows in its Distinguished Principals Program.  Our own principal Nidia Castro made the cut of only six LAUSD principals.  We are extremely proud of her.

The Cahn Fellows Program (CFP) is designed to support the growth of exemplary school leaders in large metropolitan school districts to increase leadership skills and retention in education and student outcomes. During the fellowship principals experience professional, intellectual, and personal growth through a curriculum tailored to the needs of today’s school leaders, featuring faculty from Teachers College, Columbia University, and renowned experts in the field.

Principal Castro selected our assistant principal Carlos Valdovinos as her “ally” in the program and he also benefited from some of the opportunities afforded to her.
