Assistant Principal James Oh

Having arrived in this country as a two-year-old with young parents, Mr. Oh is a product of the diverse tapestry that forms Southern California. From Koreatown to Inglewood, and La Crescenta to the Valley, his experience growing up these different areas informed his decision to enter education.

He taught English in the classroom for over 10 years, serving students as best he could to develop their potential through a growth mindset. He most recently spent time at Local District Northwest and the Division of Instruction, providing professional development on Equitable Grading and Instruction.

He now finds himself back on Zelzah Ave, where his parents owned a restaurant for over a decade, attended CSUN for his undergrad and teaching credential, and where he met his wife. Mr. Oh is excited to share his experience with the wonderful people at NAHS and looks forward to growing with a community that has given him so much.
