    January 16, 2019

    Hello parents and Guardians,
Despite the strike by members of United Teachers Los Angeles, our school remains open today and operating. Central Office employees are on campus, helping to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff, which remains our top priority. We also are providing transportation and meal service as usual.  However, athletic programs and other extracurricular activities have been cancelled. We encourage you to send your child to school, and to monitor KLCS-TV, lausd.net and the district’s social media accounts for timely updates.

    Hola Padres y Tutores,

    Hello Parents,

I was just informed that the UTLA president, Alex Caputo-Pearl has moved the strike date to Monday, January 14, 2019. Both parties are back to the negotiations table and hopefully an agreement will be reached before then. I will continue to give you updates as I get them.

Thank you for your patience and support during this time.

    Happy New Year!

Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding the possible strike on January 10, 2019.  While we cannot replace staff that chooses to strike, we will have additional personnel here at the school to support with safety and instruction. Moreover, the District has provided us with resources to ensure that instruction occurs every day and we will determine the best use of those resources depending on the staff and students who will be present during the strike. Please understand that the District continues to bargain in good faith with UTLA, and hope for a speedy resolution and we will continue to make every effort to maintain instructional continuity for our students.

Additionally, should there be a work stoppage, the District has set up a hotline for parents/guardians that will be available on Thursday, January 10th pending a strike: 213-443-1300. The hotline will be active from 6 AM to 4 PM.
